Haiti’s chaos can become a regional security issue. U.N. hears opposing views on fixing it

Escalating gang violence in Port-au-Prince has prompted Haitians to take to the streets in protest in recent days to demand that gangs give the country a chance. Armed clashes east of the capital that began on April 24, 2022, have resulted in at least 75 deaths, the U.N. said, and 9,000 people forced from their homes.
