EMERGENCY REQUEST
**Emergency Request**
Greetings Humanitarians,
Due to the continued collapse of the Haitian government and infrastructure, the HaitiChildren family is in dire need of emergency financial support now more than ever. In our 28-year history, we have never seen Haiti so overwhelmed by violence and anarchy. However, during this time, our faithful supporters have done a remarkable job in facilitating the needs of our amazing organization and helping the lives of so many Haitian children and families along the way. However, as you will read below, the recent events and costs associated with them have had an incredibly negative impact on our operating budget.
In the last year, political unrest and gang violence have laid waste to virtually all of the minimal infrastructure that had once existed, destroyed the Haitian economy, and inflicted extreme inflation on the country. We are fortunate to have an incredible team that has navigated these challenges extremely well, however, the financial toll is a very real, and uncontrollable, variant. Throughout our organization’s history, our incredible supporters have funded the establishment of numerous initiatives to improve the quality of life for the children in our HaitiChildren family. The needs that we are currently experiencing, however, are for essential items like food, diapers, and medications needed for their survival. This is a very serious and urgent issue.
Though the challenges we are currently facing may be monumental, our steadfast commitment to helping these unfortunate children is unwavering. It is with that spirit that, in this dark hour, we humbly request any financial support that you are able to contribute as we continually seek to ensure that the essential needs of our children are met. You are all heroes to our children and the 20,000+ people in the surrounding communities that we impact on an annual basis.
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (NIV), Matthew 25:40
