HaitiChildren continues to operate in the diabolical conditions of the country. Our staff have to leave their homes at 5am in order to arrive at our orphanage, clinics and schools at 8am. Civilian groups and anti-corruption organizations have vowed to march and protest until...
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Thousands of protesters demanding the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse clashed with police Thursday as some tried to storm barriers outside the National Palace while others sought shelter as heavy gunfire echoed in nearby streets.
The demonstration came a day after Moïse...
Hello friends and family,
We are monitoring the current situation in Haiti with grave concern. While, again, Haiti is in a state of political unrest, the children and staff are safe. All schools, banks, markets and many roads are closed due to manifestations of the Haitian population...
Thousands of angry Haitians marched in protest in Port-au-Prince on Sunday, decrying corruption and stepping up calls for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse, who has been implicated in two government audits on the misuse of billions of dollars in Venezuelan aid meant to help the country’s...

I've been thinking a lot lately about my early days in Haiti. About everything I didn't know back then, and all I've learned in the past twenty-five years since. This is the advice I wish I could have given to myself, back when I was only twenty-nine and just beginning my path as a humanitarian. I'm hoping it will help and inspire you on your own journey!
This is part one, part two coming soon! - Susie
This is the story of Chili. Chili came to the Haiti Children orphanage over a year ago. She had been abused for many years. She is handicapped and endured abuse for it. I was extremely intimidated upon meeting her because I relate to her.
When I was a little girl of the same age, 8, I was also abused, and I did not trust anyone. This is a lesson that I had to learn. It's hard to love when you've been hurt, but it's harder not to. Love will heal the way.
I would love to hear from you. - Susie
