A community medical clinic named Sammy’s Clinic was established and opened in February 2014. An existing medical container on site was relocated to an area close to the gate and was re-purposed to be a mobile medical clinic.

Our onsite medical professionals see our resident children and patients from the community on a weekly basis. In addition to our village and the community of Williamson, these medical clinics also benefit the villages of Doco 1 & Doco 2. They are located high in the hills above the HaitiChildren Village, above the town of Williamson in the Arcahaie area of Haiti. Living conditions are poor, with a blend of homes made of cinderblocks, tarps, sticks, and straw. Our mobile medical clinic makes it up the mountain once a month, and in case of emergencies, HaitiChildren’s medical staff is available 24/7. HaitiChildren is also partnered with Mt. Sinai Psychiatric Department and can treat children with psychiatric issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (almost all the children who are placed with us have PTSD due to being abandoned), depression, autism, or degenerated IQ due to malnutrition. At the beginning of 2015, we opened a complimentary service to the three surrounding villages and now care for the disabled children in those villages on an outpatient basis.

In addition to our village and the community of Williamson, these medical clinics also benefit the remotes hamlets of Duco 1 and Duco 2 and Chiechienne.

HaitiChildren also partnered with the Pediatric Psychiatric Department Ichan School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, New York. We collaborate with our partners at Mt. Sinai to treat children with psychiatric issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (almost all the children who are placed with us have PTSD due to being abandoned), depression, autism, or degenerated IQ due to malnutrition. We have a telemedicine program with Mt. Sinai, so patients can have appointments online from Haiti to New York.
